A Cut Above invites emerging fashion creatives to rethink the suit, not by tradition, but by vision. With access to our atelier, students will transform it into a statement of identity, innovation, and bold self-expression.

The Program

Hive & Colony joins forces with Istituto Marangoni Miami to open its world of bespoke menswear to future visionaries. Each student will receive three Hive & Colony suits as a blank canvas, and they will reimagine it through their creative lens. The final designs will debut at a one-night-only gallery showcase at the school.

The Prize

$2,600 to the Istituto Marangoni Miami Scholarship Fund.
Gift cards for top 3 winners:
1st place – $2,400
2nd place – $1,500
3rd place – $1,500
Full credit to the winning student and the school.
Internship opportunity: 6–12 months with Hive & Colony.
Two additional finalists receive certificates to create a personalized garment at Hive & Colony.

The Guidelines

Students must submit a proposal of what the suit means to them today. Using the traditional suit as a foundation, they will reinterpret it to reflect the current cultural moment.

First submission includes sketches, mood board, and a 500-word rationale.

Five finalists, chosen by Istituto Marangoni judges, will select a Hive & Colony suit from our showroom to alter for the final round.
